Most quartz watches require periodic battery replacement. If your watch has stopped or the second hand is jumping in intervals, a battery change is likely required. Our team will assess your watch and advise whether a simple replacement or a battery and reseal service is most suitable.

If your watch is not water-resistant and is not exposed to moisture, a straightforward battery replacement is often appropriate. We will inspect the case and seals before proceeding to ensure your watch remains protected.

For water-resistant watches, we recommend a full battery replacement and reseal. This includes resealing and pressure testing to ensure your watch maintains its water-resistance to the manufacturer’s specification.

If the second hand jumps in two-to-four-second intervals or the watch has stopped completely, the battery is likely depleted.

Resealing ensures your watch remains water-resistant. Without it, moisture could enter the case and damage the movement.

A while-you-wait battery replacement can often be completed the same day. A battery and reseal service usually takes 2–3 weeks, or longer if returned to the brand’s service centre (we can only return watches to brands that we stock).

We recommend pressure testing for watches that are water-resistant or frequently exposed to moisture.
