WATCH BATTERY REPLACEMENT & RESEALING

If your watch has stopped or the second hand is jumping, it may be time for a new battery. We offer professional battery replacement services, including watertight resealing and pressure testing for complete peace of mind.

Every quartz watch will require a battery replacement during its lifetime. The lifespan of a battery depends on the watch’s age, movement and additional functions, with chronograph and multifunction watches often needing more frequent changes.

If left too long, a depleted battery can leak and potentially damage the movement – leading to costly repairs. Prompt replacement ensures accurate timekeeping and protects the long-term performance of your watch.

Same-Day Battery Replacement

If you need a quick solution for a daily-wear watch that isn’t exposed to water, we can fit a new battery in-store.

Battery replacements start from £25.

Battery Replacement & Reseal

To guarantee your watch to be water-resistant, we recommend a full battery replacement and reseal service. Your watch is carefully handled, resealed and pressure tested to ensure it remains water-resistant to the manufacturer’s specification.

This service is completed by our trusted workshop partner and typically takes 2–3 weeks, depending on workload. Alternatively, we can return the watch to the brand’s service centre, time scales vary upon the model.

Once we assess your watch, we’ll confirm the exact cost and timeframe before proceeding.

I HAVE A QUARTZ WATCH - WHAT SERVICE DO I NEED?

Most quartz watches require periodic battery replacement. If your watch has stopped or the second hand is jumping in intervals, a battery change is likely required. Our team will assess your watch and advise whether a simple replacement or a battery and reseal service is most suitable.

MY WATCH IS NOT WATER-RESISTANT - WHAT SERVICE DO I NEED?

If your watch is not water-resistant and is not exposed to moisture, a straightforward battery replacement is often appropriate. We will inspect the case and seals before proceeding to ensure your watch remains protected.

MY WATCH IS WATER-RESISTANT - WHAT SERVICE DO I NEED?

For water-resistant watches, we recommend a full battery replacement and reseal. This includes resealing and pressure testing to ensure your watch maintains its water-resistance to the manufacturer’s specification.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY WATCH NEEDS A NEW BATTERY?

If the second hand jumps in two-to-four-second intervals or the watch has stopped completely, the battery is likely depleted.

WHY IS RESEALING IMPORTANT?

Resealing ensures your watch remains water-resistant. Without it, moisture could enter the case and damage the movement.

HOW LONG DOES A BATTERY REPLACEMENT TAKE?

A while-you-wait battery replacement can often be completed the same day. A battery and reseal service usually takes 2–3 weeks, or longer if returned to the brand’s service centre (we can only return watches to brands that we stock).

DO ALL WATCHES NEED PRESSURE TESTING?

We recommend pressure testing for watches that are water-resistant or frequently exposed to moisture.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Battery replacement services start from £25. The final cost depends on the watch brand and service required.
