OMEGA Speedmaster CK 2998 – A Tribute to Space Exploration.

Commemorating its historic role as the first OMEGA worn in space, the Speedmaster CK 2998 pays homage to astronaut Walter Schirra’s personal timepiece, worn during the Sigma 7 mission of the Mercury program on October 3rd, 1962. This modern reinterpretation celebrates the pioneering spirit of the 2nd generation Speedmaster with timeless style and contemporary innovation.

The 39.70mm case is expertly crafted in polished and brushed stainless steel, paired with a “flat links” bracelet featuring OMEGA’s patented comfort release adjustment system for an effortless fit. The black aluminium bezel retains the iconic tachymeter scale, complete with the legendary “Dot Over Ninety” detail—a hallmark of vintage Speedmasters.

Beneath the sapphire crystal, shaped to replicate the look of the original hesalite, lies a grey-blue CVD-coated dial reminiscent of select CK 2998 models from the 1960s. Vintage Super-LumiNova fills the indexes and “Alpha” hands, while the central seconds “Baton” hand is white varnished to complement the dial’s precise markings. The subdials include a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour recorder at 6 o’clock, and a small-seconds display at 9 o’clock.

A nod to OMEGA’s heritage, the dial features the vintage OMEGA logo, echoed on the crown. The caseback showcases the iconic Seahorse medallion alongside the engravings “THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE” and “OCTOBER 3, 1962.”

Powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, the watch offers cutting-edge precision while honoring the legacy of the original Calibre 321, famously worn by astronauts. Each timepiece is presented in a special box with a “LEGENDARY MOONWATCH” leaflet, making it a collector’s treasure.
